Community Connections - IRHS Local Business Interview

Tanvi Manku

Home Sweet Linens is a retail store selling a range of home décor, gifts, bedding, towels, bathrobes, kitchen gadgets, tableware, barware and many more luxurious and unique products, many of which are made in Canada.

Address: 1011 Upper Middle Road East

Phone: (905) 842-9877

Why did you decide to start your own business?

We started off supplying linens to hotels and saw that there was a huge demand for our linens from the general public. They wanted high quality bedding. We supplied wholesale and retail at one point. However, than we switched completely to retail and added many more beautiful lines.

What is your favorite product and what is your most popular product?

We have so many beautiful products, so it is very difficult to choose. However, the items that I live the most are the ones that are made in Canada. I love supporting local suppliers. I also love our sheet sets and towels. It is so important to have beautiful linens in your life. We spend so much our time in bed. So the proper linens are very important for a great sleep.

What do you think is one of the most important lessons you’ve learned through running your own business?

From the start we have always strived to offer the best customer service possible. Over the years, I have learned just how important this is to have a successful business.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start their own business?

Only start a business if you are passionate about the products that you are selling. Be prepared for ups and downs and make sure that you have a business plan.

Are there any promotions you would like to share with the IRHS community?

Currently we are having 30% off the entire store. If this offer has ended, we usually have many other in store offers. So definitely worth visiting.
