What are fifth week reports?

• Reports designed to provide early feedback

• Informal check in with a student’s progress

• Not many evaluations done yet

When are fifth week reports sent out?

• Sent out on the fifth week of the semester

• This semester, Oct 10

• Students will often only have 1 or 2 units completed at this point

• Roughly a quarter of the way into the semester

Who receives fifth week reports?

• All grade 9 students

• Students 60% below (Gr 10, Gr 11, Gr 12)

• Sent to parents

How can you benefit from fifth week reports?

• Can help indicate to individuals early on in the semester so that they have time to change and improve their overall mark

• There is still 15 weeks before the semester ends and generally early marks are worth less compared to marks earned later in the semester

• On fifth week reports, teachers often include comments and areas for improvement

• For grade 9s, by comparing the marks with those of elementary school, it could help indicate how you are performing in high school compared to elementary school and whether change is needed to adapt to the different learning environment
